Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Traverse City, MI

Job Summary:

As Maintenance Technician (3rd shift) for Materne North America located in Traverse City, MI you will be responsible for the troubleshooting of automated equipment on our high speed production and food processing lines.  This position starts at $24.43 with a $.50 shift differential.  After the training period is complete it goes to $25.65 with a $.50 shift differential.

Job Duties:

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated high speed manufacturing  and packaging equipment
  • Work with computer interface to monitor equipment
  • Maintain effective Preventive Maintenance programs 
  • Detect equipment problems and communicate with production team
  • Effectively manage projects with regard to time, safety, and resources 
  • Document maintenance activities using CMMS

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Vocational Technical Training or some College strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background 
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Moderate computer skills
  • Understand automation concepts; PLCs (programmable logic controllers)
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with high speed automation is a plus
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing environment is required
  • Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus. 
  • Journeyman card is a plus
  • Good decision making skills required.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as dictated by production needs

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (8-12 hours)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
