Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer the Director of Accounting will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Production as well as be responsible for the accuracy and the timely delivery of the company financial statements.  They will develop the A/P and A/R teams, update or put in place policies and procedures to strengthen our finance capabilities.  They will also be a key element in the development of our IT systems.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Team Management
    • Motivate and supervise existing Accounting team (6) and hire and train additional staff as necessary
    • Identifies and develops training plans for the team, in liaison with HR
    • Management and day to day work review of the A/P and A/R teams
    • Establish and manage the Accounting policies and procedures
    • Establish appropriate internal controls in order to protect the assets of the company and to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Lead process improvement projects between the A/P team, the purchasing team and IT
    • Lead the review of A/R scorecard and continuously seek for improvements in A/R field (DSO reduction, deduction managements, etc.)
    • Perform punctual analysis on A/P or A/R to provide clear understanding to the management team
  • Participate in the overall financial process.
    • Prepare Month-End Closing Reports, in close partnership with the financial controller (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash flow statement - EOM and YTD) and ensure reconciliation of general ledger accounts
    • Manage and stabilize the move to IFRS
    • Ensure the successful reduction of closing timelines, to meet group standards : monthly close reporting D+5
    • Prepare monthly overheads reporting, as well as overheads budget and employee headcount
    • Manage all cash in and out flows with a permanent objective of  Working Capital optimization
    • Manage external and internal auditors requirements and relationships, and ensure full compliance
  • Ensure ongoing improvement of our IT environment
    • Maintain and develop the use and understanding of SAP B1 and of other systems
    • Provide IT requirements to the IS team
    • Ensure security of financial and accounting data
  • Maintain and develop relationships with company’s external support partners (banks, auditors and tax consultants)
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Monthly close deadlines for reporting
  • Favorable audit reports
  • No fraud or litigation
  • Stability of the team and improvement of competencies

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • CPA preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in accounting (wholesale/manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience with international companies is preferable

SKILLS

  • Fluent with advanced accounting software and ERP systems
  • Advanced in Excel
  • SAP is a plus
  • Accounting skills
  • Attention to both detail and high level of accuracy
  • Analytical and problem solving
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, technology, and leadership skills

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work in normal office conditions
  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended periods of time
  • Minimal travel (5%)
