Job Summary:

As Facilities Maintenance Technician for Materne, North America located in Nampa, ID you will be responsible for the performing and coordinating maintenance for the plant utility systems along with general maintenance of building facilities.  This position will also be a resource to assist with general facility and property maintenance for the Nampa, ID plant.  This position works Sunday-Wednesday nights and may be required to work other hours occasionally, depending upon plant needs.

Primary Job Duties:

Maintain efficient operation of the facility utilities by either directly performing the work or collaborating with contracted firms with respect to waste water, HVAC, boilers, nitrogen refrigeration, compressed air, steam and access control.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Establish and maintain effective Preventive Maintenance programs and regulatory compliance programs
  • Detect equipment problems (production equipment, wastewater plant equipment, boilers, security gate) and make repairs where needed
  • Effectively manage projects with regard to time, safety, and resources.
  • Work with computer interface to monitor equipment
  • Complete work orders, shift passdowns and other documentation via computer (MS Office, CMMS)
  • Occasionally perform and/or coordinate maintenance and basic repairs for the building and facilities as requested with respect to movement and assembly of office furniture, plumbing, electrical, hardware, etc.
  • Occasionally perform and/or coordinate maintenance of the grounds and property, including waste removal, snow removal, landscaping, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.  Additional technical education beyond high school is highly desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus.


  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Strong mechanical background with electrical experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities during a shift and complete assigned work on time
  • Intermediate computer skills - experience with MS Office and maintenance management systems 
  • Ability to understand and see "the big picture" and work independently 
  • Ability to provide customer service and professionalism to internal customers and contractors
  • Must be able to work Sun-Wed nights,10-12 hour shifts 
  • Welding skills are a plus

Certified Boiler Operator or experience operating gas fired boiler systems is strongly preferred, in addition to experience maintaining at least 2 of the following utility systems:

  • Waste Water
  • Nitrogen Refrigeration
  • Access Control
  • HVAC
  • Steam
  • Compressed Air

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (10-12 hours)
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to work in outdoors year round
